Nurse Practitioner Clinical Director (Full-time)

 

To provide visionary, strategic, collaborative leadership to our dynamic inter-professional health care team (NP’s, RN’s, Social Worker, Dietician, Medical Office Assistants and an Operations Manager) who are currently in 3 locations; 2 clinics and a Community Program Centre in London, Ontario. As the primary contact for clinical practice issues with staff, consulting physicians, community partners and other groups, you will assume overall responsibility for assuring that programs and services are consistent with our vision, mission, values and principles. You will determine the balance of your case load vs. management responsibilities.

 

You’re our ideal candidate if you offer:

 

Professional Designation:

  • Nurse Practitioner; registered as an RN in the extended class, in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario

Education:

  • A Master’s of Nursing, Primary Health Care Practice MN-PHCP or MScN or MN

Knowledge of:

  • Inter-professional collaborative, strengths-based, health promotion framework and with clients who face social or other barriers

  • Policy Governance Framework

Skills and Abilities:

  • Leadership; Ability to lead an organization and foster a team based culture in an interdisciplinary environment.

  • Strategy; Forward thinker with the capacity to work at a strategic level

  • Advocacy; Commitment to disadvantaged, marginalized or vulnerable people

  • Client Focus; Skill in designing developing relevant programs and services.

  • Communications; Ability to relate to and communicate with diversestakeholders in plain language

  • Financial Management; A solid understanding of Financial Management in a non-profit, board governed environment with appropriate resources.

  • Human Resources Management; Ability to inspire a high-performance team

  • Information System Management; Ability to lead systems thinking to break down silos and facilitate collaboration. Proficient with technology including Electronic Medical Records and Microsoft Office.

  • Language; Proficiency in English required; proficiency in a second language preferred

  • Partnerships; Ability to collaborate, buildand sustain strategicrelationships, packaging and marketing the value and place of Health Zone in the community, an active networker.

  • Outcomes; Ability to work within a measurable results-based model.

  • Quality Assurance; Ability to maintain and track a ministry driven quality improvement plan.

  • Personal Characteristics; Self-motivated, flexible and creative approach to work; demonstrated ability to welcome change and manage it innovatively

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as an NP in primary care, women’s health and/or mental health settings.

  • Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and supervision of staff, and program development and evaluation.

  • Experience with outcomes and policy governance framework

Special Considerations:

  • Completion of a satisfactory Police Information Check

  • Valid Driver’s License, clean driver’s abstract, appropriate insurance and access to a reliable vehicle

  • Availability for evening and weekend meetings and events as well as occasional overnight travel out of town
